Particularly high chemical inertness and compatibility with other components

The high chemical inertness and compatibility with ultra-pure silicon make Si3N4 components ideal for use in solar cells.

This starts already with the first manufacturing steps, such as the synthesis and handling of chlorosilane and polysilane compounds. The silicon nitride ceramic enables pipelines, ball valves and reactor linings to be made contamination-free and maintenance-free.

The ultra-pure silicon produced in the following process steps can then be dosed and conveyed using silicon nitride ceramic screw conveyors or shaped into pellets using low-wear compacting rollers made from silicon nitride.

After the final step of turning the pure silicon into wafers, these can be moved with ceramic grippers or checked using probe cards (wafer handling)
